Analytical Chemistry Services Know Your Material Inside and Out

Analytical chemistry and element analysis services are used to determine material composition or element makeup of your metals and other materials. The chemists at Lab Testing perform instrumental and classical wet chemistry, and meet RoHS Compliance Testing requirements for companies conducting business in the European Union. Metals, powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, composites, ceramics, and aerospace and nuclear materials can be analyzed.

State-of-the-art spectrometers can detect the full spectrum of elements and provide trace element analysis with detection limits in the "parts per million" range for many metals. A new SEM with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry (EDS) capabilities was recently purchased for enhanced element analysis and material characterization. Positive Material Identification and oxygen, hydrogen, carbon, sulfur and nitrogen determination are offered. Gravimetric, volumetric, colorimetric and potentiometric procedures are used for analysis in the wet lab. Corrosion and passivation testing methods are performed in accordance with ASTM practices. LTI's analytical chemistry lab welcomes the challenge to process work with limited sample weight or specialized requirements.
