Failure Investigation to Understand What Happened
A failure investigation at Lab Testing will get you reliable answers when a metal part or product does not meet performance expectations. Our engineers will perform an extensive failure investigation to help you understand the root cause and ways to prevent a reoccurrence in the future. When needed, our staff is available for expert witness.
In order for us to completely understand the events that led to the failure, we ask our customers to complete a Questionnaire before we begin the investigation.
Based on the type of product and its history, we will perform the necessary testing and inspections to identify the root cause of the failure. When all results are in and all of the information has been analyzed, our metallurgical engineers will prepare a comprehensive Failure Investigation Report of all findings, supporting materials and recommendations.
