Instrumental & Wet Chemistry Analysis
Instrumental and wet chemistry analysis services performed by Laboratory Testing Inc. include composition analysis, trace element analysis and material characterization. The lab prepares the samples needed to perform instrumental analysis:
- SEM with Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectrometry (SEM/EDS)
- Inductively-Coupled Plasma Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (ICP-AES)
- Inductively-Coupled Plasma Mass Spectroscopy (ICP-MS)
- Atomic Emission Spectroscopy (AES)
- Fourier Transform Infrared Spectroscopy (FTIR)
- Carbon, Sulfur, Nitrogen, Oxygen, and Hydrogen Determination
Our chemists analyze metals, powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, composites, ceramics, and plastics used in aerospace, nuclear, medical, military and commercial applications. Instrumental chemistry by ICP and EDS analysis can determine the types and/or quantities of elements in sample materials. Trace element analysis is performed using spectrometers with detection limits in the "parts per million" range for many metals.
LTI's instrumental chemistry analysis and wet chemistry lab has the capability to analyze samples with limited weight or special requirements. LTI chemistry services are PRI Nadcap accredited and all analysis results are fully documented in Certified Test Reports.
Additional Services
- Corrosion testing using methods such as passivation, humidity, salt spray and salt fog testing
- Positive Material Identification (PMI)
- RoHS (Restriction of Hazardous Substances) compliance testing to verify levels of the restricted substances.
