• Metals & Materials Testing

  Be certain your materials and end products will perform for their intended use and endure for their expected life. LTI inspects and tests metal parts and products in all shapes and sizes, and also analyzes powdered metals, ores, ferroalloys, composites and ceramics. Our testing labs perform a wide-array of services including Mechanical Properties Testing, Metallurgical Evaluation, Instrumental & Classical Wet Chemistry, and Corrosion Testing. All results are documented in detailed Certified Test Reports to meet quality assurance requirements and answer questions about material characteristics, properties and flaws.

• NDT Inspection

  Have us locate surface and sub-surface defects on tubing, pipe, barstock, plates, castings and other products of almost any size or shape without harm to the parts or materials. We perform the testing that provides the answers you need -- Ultrasonic Inspection, Magnetic Particle Inspection, Liquid Penetrant Inspection, Radiography, Hydro Pressure Testing and Visual Inspection. All nondestructive (NDT) testing and inspection results are documented for you in an easy-to-read Certified Test Report.

• Failure Investigation

  When metal products fail during use, you need to understand the root cause of the problem. In many cases, you also may want input into preventing a recurrence. Laboratory Testing will perform the necessary testing and inspection to provide the answers you need in a comprehensive failure analysis report that lists all findings from our investigation.

• Test Specimen Machining

  Many types of destructive testing require a test specimen made to industry specifications or specific requirements. To save you time, our machinists can prepare the specimens needed for your testing orders. If you do your own testing inhouse, we can provide economical, high quality specimens from metals and many plastics.

• Dimensional Inspection

  Lab Testing performs first-article and third-party inspections by CMM to verify measurement accuracy of surface dimensions, internal and external threads, and special features on machined products, parts and fasteners.

• Instrument & Field Calibration

  NIST-traceable and A2LA-accredited calibration services are performed in a environment-controlled calibration laboratory to ensure reliable results. Our calibration company can calibrate most meauring tools, gages, masters and pressure, torque, force and mass instruments. Field calibration technicians will come to your facility to calibrate surface plates, optical comparators, hardness testers, balances and instruments that can not be taken out of service for a few days at a time.
