LTI Metrology, the calibration lab at Laboratory Testing Inc., has services to meet all of your calibration needs including A2LA accredited and NIST-traceable temperature calibration for ovens, furnaces and temperature-reading instruments. Computerized Fluke calibration equipment is used throughout the temperature calibration lab and for services provided in the field.
Capabilities are available for most temperature-reading instruments including recorder, hygrometer, psychrometer, RTD probe, pyrometer and thermocouple calibration. Thermometer calibration for digital, infra-red, bimetal, surface and liquid in glass models is also provided. Temperature uniformity surveys are performed on ovens and furnaces according to AMS2750D pyrometry requirements. Our technician surveys temperatures at various locations in the oven or furnace to accurately identify the need for adjustments that will maintain consistent temperature throughout.
Temperature calibration and uniformity surveys are essential for ensuring accurate and consistent production and efficient use of energy. At LTI Metrology, we work with top-of-the-line Fluke calibration equipment to verify optimal performance from your temperature instruments. The computerized equipment records all calibration readings and outputs results from the database to ensure accurate reporting of results in your Calibration Certificate.
For convenience, we offer temperature calibration and all of our additional calibration services at a single location in Hatfield PA, not far from the Philadelphia area. Ovens, furnaces, temperature controllers and many other instruments can be calibrated right at your facility by our field technicians. You can count on reasonable turnaround with every order.
The Temperature Calibration Process
LTI Metrology utilizes a number of different processes to perform temperature calibration on a wide-range of instruments both in our lab and in the field. Digital recorder and thermometer calibration takes place on a Fluke multi-process calibrator that runs a Met/Cal software suite for multi-product Fluke calibration. This Fluke calibration system is first programmed with the appropriate inspection temperatures. Temperature readings are then taken from the test instruments and compared with the programmed output to determine their accuracy.
Pyrometer calibration, thermocouple calibration and some recorder and thermometer calibration are completed using dry-wells and liquid-baths with temperature ranges from -45° C to 700° C. The liquid in temperature baths and atmosphere in dry wells/blocks are set to a specific temperature for calibration. Once the appropriate temperature is reached, the test instrument and a standard are placed into the bath or well for a comparison of readings. Surface probes and thermometers are calibrated on special hot plates. Temperature calibration is usually a 5 point inspection, unless more inspection points are requested by the customer.
