Scale Calibration
Scale calibration, also called balance calibration, will let you know that your equipment is reporting accurate weights and measures when in use. These instruments are used in all types of businesses, including pharmaceutical, food, manufacturing, shipping and others. Scales and balances have a major function in many of these business applications, and in most cases, measurement accuracy is critical.
LTI Metrology has the expertise and staff to provide scale calibration and balance calibration in our environmentally-controlled laboratory or onsite at your facility. Don’t leave accuracy to chance when our team can provide the calibration service and the reassurance you need. Our technicians will verify linearity, repeatability and eccentricity during scale and balance calibration to ensure your instruments meet the requirements you are expecting.
The Calibration Process
The scale calibration process begins by inspecting the equipment to be sure it reads zero when not in use. Depending on the scale capacity, a selection of test weights in a range of grams or pounds are checked on the scale to determine the accuracy of the instrument. The readings are recorded and special note is made of any weight readings that are out of the scale requirements. In some cases, the technician can make adjustments to correct the accuracy of the scale.
