Mechanical Testing Technician – 1st Shift

Job Status:

Full-time, first shift (7:00 AM-3:30 PM)

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities include tensile, hardness, charpy, stress rupture, and miscellaneous testing and some equipment maintenance.  This position requires mechanical aptitude, mathematical ability, some computer skills, and the ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds.  Experience preferred, but not required.

Educational Requirements:

High school diploma or equivalent required

CNC Mill Operator

Job Status:

Full-time, second shift (2:30 PM - 11:00 PM)

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities include CNC and manual milling.  Essential duties include setting up and running parts and test specimens, maintaining traceability of materials and parts, troubleshooting problems, and assisting with maintaining shop equipment.  3-5 years milling experience and working knowledge of other machine shop equipment preferred.  Experience with G-code programming helpful.  This position requires excellent attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to process work in a fast paced environment, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.

Educational Requirements:

High school diploma required with related trade or technical school diploma or certificate preferred.

Lathe Operator

Job Status:

Full-time, second shift (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM)

Job Description:

Job Description:   Primary responsibilities include operating CNC and manual lathes.  Working knowledge of other machine shop equipment desirable.  This position requires excellent attention to detail and accuracy, the ability to process work in a fast paced environment, the ability to hold tight tolerances, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to work with minimal supervision.  This position also requires prolonged standing, and the ability to push, pull, lift and/or carry up to seventy-five (75) pounds.  The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience with a solid background in operating and programming Okuma, Haas, and Mori Seiki lathes.

Educational Requirements:

High school diploma required with related trade or technical school diploma or certificate preferred.

Mechanical Testing Laboratory Manager

Job Status:

Full-time, first shift (7:00 AM - 4:30 PM)

Job Description:

Primary responsibilities include the overall efficiency and effective management of the total Mechanical Testing laboratory. This is a two shift operation which includes tensile testing, hardness testing, charpy testing, stress rupture, creep testing, and heat treating.  This position plans for and oversees day-to-day operations as well as short and long range strategic planning to meet customer expectations and on-time performance goals, focuses on continuous improvement of the laboratory operations, maintains the accuracy of test data, ensures compliance with quality standards and requirements to LTI’s major accreditations, represents LTI as a technical leader for customer inquiries and during the sales process, assists Sales with developing quotations, and is responsible for developing a strong working team by providing effective leadership, training, and coaching.  This leader must have strong knowledge in all areas of mechanical testing including material properties and industry standards including, but not limited to, ASTM, AMS, ASME, and ISO/EN.  Strong computer skills with Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Visio, and Solidworks, and a working knowledge of LIMS are also required.

Educational Requirements:

A degree in Materials Science or Engineering, 7+ years of experience in mechanical and materials testing, or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Also, a minimum of 2 years management experience is required.
