Mechanical Testing

Laboratory Testing Inc. performs mechanical testing of metals to evaluate properties such as strength, hardness and elasticity. The mechanical testing services performed in our accredited laboratory include proof load, tensile, charpy impact, stress rupture, fatigue, fracture toughness, yield strength, bend, hardness and much more. Our mechanical testing is PRI/Nadcap accredited and A2LA accredited to ISO/IEC 17025. LTI’s quality system complies with ISO 9001 and ISO 13485.

Most mechanical testing is performed on metal samples and metal test specimens or coupons. Test specimens or coupons can be prepared in our Machine Shop on our CNC lathe, milling and grinding machines. We have the capabilities to prepare a wide-range of specimens including Jominy, Flat Tensile, Round Tensile, Flat Fatigue, Izod Impact, Dynamic Tear, Stress Rupture, Stress Corrosion, Gleeble, Charpy V-Notch Impact, Rotating Beam & Low Cycle Fatigue, Compact Tension, Fracture Toughness, Round Compression, Hydrogen Embrittlement, Face, Root, & Side Bend, Rotating Beam & Low Cycle Fatigue.
